Overview & Schedule
Street Camp gives us a chance to connect with kids in our community, teaching them about who God is and who He says they are. We would like your group to provide songs, a skit or lesson based off of the scripture we’ve given your team, a craft or activity, and a snack for the kids.
2:00-2:30pm Travel to the location and get kids from the apartments (if your team is at the Boys & Girls Club, you will not have pickup)
2:30-3:00pm Free play with kids
3:00-3:10pm Songs
3:10-3:25pm Skit/Lesson

*GUM will provide recreational materials like balls, frisbees, and hula hoops. Your team will be required to bring snacks, craft materials and anything needed for your lesson
Guidelines
Bring age-appropriate lessons and activities: The kids you will be working with will be between 4 and 12 years old, so planning interactive activities that all ages can do is important.
Tell parents that you are with GUM, and ask if you can bring their child to the park: Make sure that you have a parent or guardian’s permission to take their child to the park. Be kind and courteous, and let them know that you will bring the child back at around 4:00pm.
Whoever you bring to the park, you MUST take back to their apartment: When kids are with us, we are responsible for them. Even if they want to stay at the park, say that they are allowed to stay, or anything else, we have to be the ones to take them back home.
Write down apartment numbers of kids you pick up: Have a leader keep a list of all of the kids your group picks up, and write down their apartment numbers so that you know where to drop them off.
Do not go behind closed doors with a child: We do not want you to be in a situation where you and a child are alone. Stay within view of others when you are with a kid.
Do not pick up kiddos: This is something our site host(s) have asked of us and we want to honor this!
Do not bring messy or water activities: We do not want to send kids home with dirty or wet clothing that their parents have to deal with.
Curriculum
In order to make sure students have a rich and full biblical curriculum we plan out our curriculum on a year by year basis. To access this curriculum please use the link below. Typically we use one scripture for the week and then break it down in the following ways:
Day One The Scripture-This is the day to review what students learned the week prior and then introduce them to the scripture for the week
Day Two Big Words-On this day we'll deep dive into the big words! Feel free to use supporting scriptures or biblical stories!
Day Three Bring It Home! This is the day for the students to show what they've learned! Get them to act it out, share a memory verse, anything where they get to show off!
Locations
Your team will be at one of these four locations for Street Camp. You will return to this location every day during the trip. This helps build relationships by having groups throughout the summer pour into kids across our community in consistent locations.
